The 2025 Spring China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) recently concluded successfully at the Pazhou Exhibition Center in Guangzhou. As an important window for China’s opening-up, this edition of the Canton Fair once again attracted widespread attention from the global trade community with its rich history, massive scale, and high international standards. The fair adopted a hybrid format, combining both online and offline participation, showcasing the latest achievements and industrial advantages of Chinese manufacturing and further unlocking the potential for international market cooperation.
This year, the fair hosted more than 289,000 foreign buyers from 219 countries and regions, a 17.3% increase compared to the previous year. Among the attendees, buyers from Belt and Road countries accounted for 64.9%; BRICS countries and RCEP member states represented 24.1% and 22.5%, respectively; while buyers from Europe and the United States made up 17.9% of the total. These figures demonstrate that Chinese manufacturing continues to hold significant global competitiveness and appeal for collaboration. Notably, the engagement from South American buyers saw a substantial rise, with countries like Argentina and Brazil experiencing a large increase in the number of buyers. This shows the region's strong interest in and demand for Chinese goods. The active participation of South American buyers further highlights the powerful attraction of Chinese manufacturing and the trend towards market diversification.
